So Very Thankful

November 23, 2012

I can’t believe today is Thanksgiving. But, it’s here. Turkey Day. The Macy’s Day Parade. Football. And, about an extra 5lb weight gain from one meal.

Obviously, we’re all supposed to be thinking about what we’re most thankful for at this time. I’m getting my caveats in now…Clearly, I’m thankful for my health, family, friends, and good weather.

But, with everything that’s been going on all over the World, I figured it’d be nice for a little thankful brevity. So, here are the 10 Things I’m Most Thankful For:

10. Kelly finally finding her co-host, Michael Strahan. Took her long enough.

9. Mail. The fact that the mailman is still delivering our mail and that my dog hasn’t killed him yet is astounding.

Murphy looks innocent, but when people approach, especially the mailman, she’s vicious. A vicious Australian Labradoodle.

8. These hair-tie-thingies that don’t rip my hair out. They come in lots of fun cute colors that even look cute when you wear it on your wrist.

Here’s the one I wore on my wrist today (bought it at Denny’s). It says “I am HAPPINESS.” And, you know what? I felt happy wearing the damn thing.

7. My IPad. I never leave home without it.

Yes. I’m kissing and hugging my IPad. And, thanking Steve Jobs for all his genius.

6. This new fabulous Essie nail color that I’m absolutely in love with, Dive Bar.

There’s more of a green thing going on with this color. It’s fantastic!

5. Chocolate croissants. Yum.

I admit it. I had one this morning. Thanksgiving started a little early for me this year. (Photo courtesy of www.cookiesncandy.com.)

4. Coffee. I’m a total addict and I absolutely refuse to seek help about it. No caffeine rehab for me. I literally wouldn’t be able to function without my morning cup-of-joe.

My coffee never looks like this. (Photo courtesy of www.ilovecoffeebook.com.)

3. “Tattoo Nightmares,” on Spike TV. It’s my new favorite show. Brilliant. People come in with horrific tattoos and stories of how they got them, but walk out with works of art. They make the terrible tattoo totally disappear. It’s unbelievable. It also feeds my tattoo fascination.

Here’s the Tattoos Nightmares gang; Big Gus, Jasmine Rodriguez, and Tommy Helm. They have mad skills. The show airs on Tuesdays at 11pm E / 10pm C. (Photo courtesy of www.spike.com.)

2. Erotic romances. This should be obvious, but in case you’re just tuning in…my discovery and obsession with this literary genre has provided countless benefits. I’ll just let you run with that one.

Fifty Shades of Grey

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. The book that kicked it all off.

…and the number 1 thing that I’m most thankful for this holiday season:

1. Mark still has all his appendages. Seriously. His attempt to cut down our fallen tree could have easily turned into a catastrophe of epic proportions. And, he did it today, on Thanksgiving. So, I’d say I’m most thankful that we didn’t end up in the hospital today.

The first cut. I was a nervous wreck. I told him, “You cut off a limb, you drive yourself to the hospital.” Kidding. Totally kidding. Of course, I’d drive him to the hospital.

Luckily, Mark got to this point without any problems. There were a few touch-and-go moments, but no bloodshed.

It’s almost cut down.

A big exhale of relief…

Yay. Mark didn’t lose one limb, finger or toe. I’m so very proud.

I’ll say it again, I’m so very thankful we didn’t end up in the hospital today.

I’m really thankful for all my amazing readers. You guys are the best!! Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!! I hope it was a wonderful Holiday for you!!!

xoxoxoxo

I want to  hear what you’re thankful for this Holiday season?

I appreciate everything that you do,
Very helpful and thoughtful too.
From the beginning, you’ve been there for me,
When I was down, you were strong like a tree.
